The Knots Keep Rolling:

Just two months ago this rag tag group of tragically hipsters, The Knots, pearl jammed their way into our hearts and became the eventual Song Search New West winners.

Today the band held their second of two sessions recording their song This Royal City at Vogville recording studios.

But that’s not all the Knots have been up to.

On May 1st the band took to the stage at the Youth Ink Best Teen Band Contest finale in front of a group of 200 enthusiastic supporters. The Knots beat out more than 50 other bands from across the province to get to the stage of three finale at the Tom Lee Music Hall in downtown Vancouver.

Naturally, the Knots won that contest too.

We’d like to give a big thank you to Vogville Recording for their sponsorship and a gigantic congratulations to The Knots. Way to go guys — you saw them here first!

Judges Selecting a Winner!

With 29 submissions to adjudicate this is a big task for our judges, one of whom was delayed returning from the Grammy’s. This has slowed the process. We ask for your continued patience and will announce the winner, here, as soon as the judges have made their decision.

“This is an original song that I wrote just the other day for the contest! I was born here in New West, my family moved away for a while but eventually moved back and have been in New West for the last 10 years. Hope everyone enjoys the video :D Thanks to everyone else who also posted videos, seeing how many people love New Westminster like I do was inspiring!”

Thanks Brian. Great song. There’s no place like home!
